How do I refer a friend?

It's easy. You can invite your friend to open a new SAFE checking account by downloading this referral card and filling it out. You also can pick up a referral card at any SAFE branch. Once you've completed the card, simply give it to your friend to submit when they open their new checking account. The new account can be opened in one of SAFE's 18 branches or online. 

Can anyone make a referral?

Any current SAFE member who has a SAFE checking account can make a referral.

What information do I need to provide when making a referral?

You'll need to fill out your name, email address, phone number, and address on the referral card before giving it to your friend. Keep in mind, the information you provide must match our current Credit Union records in order for you and your friend to receive your $50 bonus incentive. 

Can I refer a family member?

Sure! You can refer members of your family as long as they are 18 years of age or older and they do not have a SAFE checking account. 

Is there anyone I can't refer?

This offer is not valid for business accounts. Also, the referred member cannot be valid on any second or new joint checking account of a current member. Individuals who are a signer on a SAFE Federal Credit Union checking account that was closed within the last 90 days also are ineligible.

How many friends can I refer?

There's no limit on the number of referrals you can make. So if you have plenty of friends and family members who don't have their checking account at SAFE, this is the perfect time for them to become part of our SAFE Family!

What is required of the people I refer?

The person you refer must first open any SAFE checking account. Then, within 60 calendar days after opening the account:

  • Make at least 25 debit card purchases.
  • Receive at least one direct deposit to the account.
  • Opt-in for eStatements.
How do I know if the people I refer open a checking account and complete the required actions?

To protect the privacy of our members, we cannot discuss information related to someone else's account. If your referred friend has any questions about their account, they can contact our Member Service Center  by calling 1-800-763-8600 and select option #2. Our Member Service Center is available Monday through Friday from 7 AM until 7 PM and on Saturday from 9 AM until 1 PM.

How will I get paid after I make a referral?

If the conditions are met within the first 60 calendar days after the new account is opened and the account is current (no negative balances), both the new checking member and referring member will receive a $50 bonus incentive posted to their primary share account.
