SAFE Federal Credit Union has made moving your accounts fast and convenient with our Online Switch Kit. All the letters and forms you will need to make this transition as easy as possible are provided here. All you have to do is print and mail the documents to the appropriate financial institutions, companies and/or individuals.

Follow the steps below to complete your switch to SAFE Federal Credit Union

>> Click here to print out SAFE's switch kit checklist. Printing the checklist out will allow you to keep it available for future reference. As you continue to complete items, simply check off the boxes on your printed copy.

>> Open your membership and checking account at SAFE. You may do this by visiting any of our branch locations or complete our contact form and we will contact you to open your account.

>> Make sure enough funds are available in your old account to cover any automatic payments, checks, and check card transactions that may still be withdrawn. Check maturity dates on Certificates of Deposit if transferring in order to avoid early withdrawal penalties.

>> Send written notices to companies with which you have direct deposit (employer, government deposits, pension, transfers from other financial institutions, investment dividends, child support or court-issued deposits, etc.) notifying them that you want to switch your direct deposits to your new SAFE FCU account. Download the Direct Deposit Change Request Form here.

>> Send a written notice to set up direct deposits with any new companies or individuals. Download the Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement here.

>> To change Social Security deposits, visit: Social Security Online or call the Social Security Administration at: 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778)
SAFE Federal Credit Union Routing/Transit number: 253279691

>> Send written notices to companies who automatically take payments from your checking account (utilities, mortgage, insurance, brokerage, credit cards, internet service providers, transfers to other financial institutions, child support or court issued payments, etc.) notifying them that you are closing the account. Download the Authorization for Canceling Automatic Payments Form here.

>> Include a notification with your new account information if you wish to continue the automatic payments at SAFE Federal Credit Union. Download the Authorization for Automatic Payment Transfer Form here.

>> Send a notification if you wish to add a new automatic payment. Download the Authorization for Automatic Payment Form here.

>> Contact companies that take payments from your old checking account using a debit card. Inform them of your new SAFE Federal Credit Union Debit card number and expiration date. If you prefer, you may set-up this payment as an automatic payment rather than debit card payment using the Authorization for Automatic Payment Form.

>> Verify that your direct deposits and automatic payments have begun posting to your new SAFE Federal Credit Union account.

>> Send a written notice to your old financial institution informing them that you are closing your account. Download the Account Closing Request Form here.
