Potential Card Fraud
Friday, June 22, 2018
SAFE Federal Credit Union has received several reports from members about potential fraud on their debit cards. We want to assure our members that SAFE’s systems have NOT been compromised. Unfortunately, fraud is something all financial institutions must deal with, but we are working with Visa® to determine the cause of potential fraud in these recent cases.
Visa® has a zero liability fraud policy for purchases made as a signature transaction. If purchases are determined to be fraudulent, those funds will be returned to you. We ask our members to stay vigilant and always check your accounts for potential fraud, then notify us so we can take action on your account. If you suspect fraud on your account, give us a call at 803-469-8600 x2369.
You can reduce fraud and keep track of your spending with Visa® Purchase Alerts. You can receive updates on your Visa® card activity with this unique service available free for SAFE Federal Credit Union cardholders. Learn more and sign up at SAFEfed.org.
