More than 300 members of the Lexington community securely disposed of their unwanted sensitive documents at SAFE's recent shred event—16,000 pounds of it to be exact!

During the event, SAFE accepted monetary donations for Ezekiel Ministries, a Columbia community resource for children in need. All in all, more than $800 was collected for their mentorship program.

"SAFE's shred days help us spread awareness about the importance of shredding your personal documents rather than simply throwing them away," said SAFE's President and CEO, Michael Baker. "We encourage everyone to use this service to protect themselves."

This was SAFE's third shred event for the year. The next shred day will take place on October 14 at the Florence Center, located at 3300 West Radio Drive in Florence, South Carolina.
