Eleven South Carolina high school students were awarded $2,500 each towards their education as part of SAFE Federal Credit Union’s long-standing scholarship program.

The scholarships were awarded to public and private school students within SAFE’s service area. The applications were evaluated by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and students were chosen based on a variety of criteria, including Grade Point Average (GPA), community and volunteer involvement, and their plans to enroll as a full-time student at a college or university.

“Investing in education is also an investment in the future of SAFE and the communities we serve,” said President and CEO, Michael Baker. "We are incredibly proud of this year's graduating seniors and are honored to support them as they begin the next chapter in their education journey."

Students receiving scholarships are:

  • Johnathan Abbott, River Bluff High School, College of Choice
  • Saniya House, Scotts Branch High School, University of South Carolina
  • Ziaier Bryant, Scott's Branch High School, University of South Carolina Upstate
  • Serena Oder, South Carolina Connections Academy, Lander University
  • Jordyn Buck, White Knoll High School, College of Choice
