In addition to establishing your required membership savings account, as a business owner, you can establish one additional savings account.

As a business member, you can establish up to two checking accounts and two money market checking accounts. Debit card included for free, of course!

How to Establish a Business Account with SAFE 

To establish your business account, you can schedule an appointment with a Business Service Representative by either:

What documentation is required? 

If your business is tax exempt, you must also present your determination or affirmation letter from the IRS confirming your tax-exempt status.

Sole Proprietorship
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter (if using an EIN)
  • Tax Return (Schedule C) (if available)
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of Owner and Authorized Signers
Limited Partnership and Limited Liability Partnership
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Owners and Authorized Signers
  • Business License (if required in your county)
  • Partnership Agreement (listing all partners)
  • Certificate of Existence (if 12 months or older) (within the last 30 days)
  • Registration of Limited Liability Partnership (for LLPs only)
  • Certificate of Limited Partnership (for LPs only)
General Partnership
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Owners and Authorized Signers
  • Business License (if required in your county)
  • Partnership Agreement (listing all partners)
Limited Liability Company
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter (if using an EIN) (single owner LLCs using a SSN do not need a TIN letter)
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Owners and Authorized Signers
  • Business License (if required in your county)
  • Filed Articles of Organization
  • Operating Agreement and any amendments (not applicable to single owner LLC)
  • Certificate of Existence (if 12 months or older) (within the last 30 days)
Corporation
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Owners and Authorized Signers
  • Business License (if required in your county)
  • Filed Articles of Incorporation
  • Bylaws
  • Certificate of Existence (if 12 months or older) (within the last 30 days)
  • Minutes from last Board Meeting
Incorporated Organization or Association
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Business Owners/Shareholders, and Authorized Signers
  • Filed Articles of Organization or Charter
  • Bylaws 
  • Certificate of Existence (if 12 months or older) (within the last 30 days)
Unincorporated Organization or Association
  • Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) Letter
  • Driver's License and Social Security Number of all Shareholders and Authorized Signers
  • Business License (if required in your county)
  • Bylaws
  • Charter
  • Minutes from last Board Meeting (showing where officers were elected)

Additional Business Banking Information

If you have lost or misplaced your Employer Identification Number (EIN) visit the website of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

To obtain a letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) confirming your tax-exempt status, visit the IRS website

Proof of address can be verified with a business license, utility bill, insurance card, or statement, cable, or land-line phone bill (not more than 30 days old), filed tax return or Schedule C or Certificate of Existence or Good Standing if address is present.
