ACH and Debit Card Authorization

(Online Banking – External Loan Payments)

External Loan Payments allow you to make loan payments on most SAFE Federal Credit Union loans, except for mortgage loans and credit card loans.  This ACH and Debit Card Authorization is part of and subject to your eSign Consent, Online and Mobile Banking Agreement, Membership Application and Membership, Account and Account Services Agreement.  The term “you” or “your” refer to the user of online banking services and the Loan Payment feature.  Please save a copy of this payment information for your records.

The term “Business Day” means Monday through Friday, except Federal Reserve holidays.

Unless otherwise required by specifically applicable laws, for payments received by mail by 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, you will receive credit that day; and for payments made in any other manner, including in person, your account will be credited the day payment is received.

SUBMITTING YOUR PAYMENT

To complete your SAFE Federal Credit Union loan payment, select your payment method, then select the loan on which you wish to make a payment, enter the amount of the payment and confirm the date of payment.  Click “Continue” when you are ready to submit your payment or “Cancel” if you do not want to continue.

By clicking “Continue,” you authorize a one-time ACH (or electronic) debit of the account selected or the account associated with the debit card, as applicable, on which you are an authorized signer, for the Total Amount on or after the Selected Date.

ACH payments, those payments processed using a checking or savings account from another institution, made after 2:00 EST will be processed on the next Business Day.

Debit card payments, those payments processed using a debit card from another financial institution, should be scheduled a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the due date for timely processing.

You understand that this authorization may be revoked by contacting SAFE Federal Credit Union at 1.800.763.8600 or 803.469.8600 before 2:00 pm EST on the Selected Date and processing of the payment has not begun.

Please be advised that it may take up to 3 business days between Date Initiation (shown on the Confirmation acknowledgement) and final credit and /or debiting of specified accounts to reflect the transaction.

LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

The following limitations and restrictions apply to the Loan Payment feature:

  • SAFE Federal Credit Union credit card and mortgage loan payments cannot be made using this service.
  • A debit card payment can only be processed using a debit card from another financial institution.
  • An ACH payment can only be processed using a checking or savings account from another financial institution.
  • Payments cannot be made for an amount less than the minimum amount owed or greater than $2,000.
  • Payments cannot exceed your current loan balance.
  • Payments cannot be more than two (2) times the normal payment.
  • You may not payoff your loan using this service.
  • Only one payment can be applied to your loan account within a 24-hour period. 

FEES

To process each automated clearing house (“ACH”) payment, you agree to pay a one-time fee of $10.00.  To process each debit card payment, you agree to pay a one-time fee of $10.00. The following fees also apply to returned items as outlined in the current Fee Schedule, which may be amended from time to time.

If there are not sufficient funds in your account and your payment is processed, your financial institution may also charge you fees according to your agreement with them.
