SAFE Federal Credit Union announced the promotion of Wayne Keels to Assistant Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Project Management.

Wayne Keels, SAFE Federal Credit Union“Wayne Keels has played a vital role in our organization’s major strategic initiatives and SAFE is proud to announce his well-earned promotion,” said President and CEO Michael Baker. “His insight as AVP of Continuous Improvement and Project Management will be important as we look to further enhance our organization’s efficiency and overall member experience.”

Keels joined SAFE in 2018 as its Director of Continuous Improvement. During his tenure, Keels led the largest technology upgrades in the credit union’s history including its $1.1 million digital banking conversion and its $3.7 million core banking conversion.

“I’m looking forward to using a blend of entrepreneurial vision and management acumen to deliver first-rate results for SAFE’s projects portfolio,” said Keels. “I’ll be leveraging business intelligence to identify new opportunities to improve our credit union’s operations and add value for our members.”

Keels holds an MS in Computer Science from Purdue University and an MBA in Marketing and Project Management from DeVry University. He has more than 20 years of continuous improvement and project management experience with expertise in strategy execution, systems integration, and lean six sigma.
