IDCheck: Account protection when you're banking away from home.
SAFE is committed to keeping your account safe and secure no matter where your travels take you. That's why we're happy to introduce a new shared branch security feature called IDCheck.
IDCheck allows for quick and secure identity verification to help protect both our non-member guests and SAFE members who use shared branching while traveling. Here's a short video to tell you more about this new feature:
Here's how it works:
You'll follow a simple verification process using your mobile device before completing your shared branch transaction. We've broken it down step-by-step below:
- When you arrive at the branch, or before, you will be asked to scan a QR code (can also be accessed by visiting https://verify.coop.org) with your mobile device and follow the instructions on the screen to get a member verification code.
- Enter your Credit Union’s name – will be able to choose from a drop down list.
- Enter your Member Number and last 4 digits of social security number.
- Take a picture of the front of your government issued ID.
- Take a picture of the back of your government issued ID (your ID is stored so this can be reused instead of taking a new photo every time).
- Take a Selfie (your selfie is stored so this can be reused instead of taking a new photo every time).
- You will be given a verification code – this code is good for 20 minutes and must be provided to the Teller prior to performing the transaction.
- Proceed to the Teller and provide them with your verification code.
- Complete transaction as normal.
The entire process takes just two minutes or less, and helps protect your account from unauthorized access while keeping your transaction quick and easy.
